A basketball classic makes its comeback!
With the “Sea Salt” Pack, the New Balance BB 550 experiences a transformation from old school basketball sneaker to an iconic lifestyle shoe. Its success can also be attributed to the New York fashion label Aimé Leon Dore. With their collaboration, the 550, which first appeared in 1989, is now making a comeback on the sneaker market. Inspired by the 90s, the New Balance BB 550 is a tribute to the basketball and street style scene.
The timeless classic inspires young and old and now appears in a clean look with the “Sea Salt” Pack. It consists of three different colorways. According to New Balance, the trio is inspired by the original 1989 release.
Just like in 1989, the New Balance BB 550 appears in the colorways “Black”, “Yellow” and “Burgundy”. The upper of all three is made of white soft leather. The light grey suede mudguard paired with the colored accents provides that classic vintage vibe. A slightly yellowed sole completes the vibe, fully catapulting the wearer into a retro feel.

The New Balance BB 550 LM refines the clean upper with black accents. Branding, collar, and outsole are highlighted by the black design. The branding is found on the heel and tongue tag in addition to the classic “N” logo on the side.
The New Balance BB 550 LA1 shines in a rich yellow. This also runs across the outsole, branding, and collar. The off-white arrangement gets that 90s charm with the yellow color accents.
The New Balance BB 550 LI1 completes the “Sea Salt” pack. Burgundy Red details offer the authentic retro vibe that the entire trio gives off.
