The atypical year of 2020 is almost coming to an end, and there is no better way to start the countdown than with freshly squeezed news. In all honesty, mentioning the AM1 “Lemonade” is like taking a trip down memory lane.
Let us go back to the early 2000s, the Air Max 1 golden era. Well, not only that, as the Powerwall Pack contained 56 different pairs, treading ground towards the release of the Nike Air Max 360. What was known to be a track-runner, over the years has evolved and became a true street-icon. This year saw the release of the Limeade and the Pink Lemonade, although the best is yet to come.
The (retro) Nike Air Max 1 “Lemonade” features its original hues, displaying an array of colours including yellow, green and white. To be specific, the “Lemonade” showcases a golden-yellow leather and mesh upper with bubbly and printed “Air” texts. Moreover, dynamic forest-green laces and lace-holes can be found. For the midsole and outsole, white and black, respectively, completes this overall citrus-look. Details like reflective materials, tongue tags and custom insoles are also included. After all, the silhouette has not been re-imagined but rather re-tooled and re-worked.
Originally designed by The Architect, the Air Max 1 remains as one of the most iconic and far-reaching sneakers to ever grace footwear history. Nike, as usual, likes to dig back into their archives and revive important moments in history, making the old new again.
You may have another chance to own one of the best pairs of 2020, with the nostalgic feel of its predecessor.
Available on December 4th, don’t miss it.
