Nike Air Max III “Infrared” 2020

Nike Air Max III “Infrared”

Designed with swiftness and speed in mind, the Nike Air Max III “Radiant Red” aka Nike Air Max 90 “Infrared” is back in its true and original form, built using crisp white mesh, black leather and light-grey suede. Delivering that 90’s nostalgia like no other, images show that its shape has been improved and refined, making it a very close 1-to-1 iteration. Also, they will debut in a full-family sizing.

However, first things first: Originally called Nike Air Max III “Radiant Red”, nowadays, you might know it as the Nike Air Max 90 “Infrared”. You will understand why in just a second.

In fact, when you dig a little bit deeper, you may come across the term “Hyvent Orange”. There are quite a few theories floating around the world wide web regarding the three name changes, but we will leave them out. What everyone must agree is that the “Infrared” has profoundly influenced how we look at sneakers in general.

Tinker Hatfield, and Nike for all that matters, hit the jackpot with the release of the Air Max 1 and, subsequently, the Air Max Light. Expectations were quite high, back in 1990, but the future success of the lineage was assured at this point. Furthermore, the Air Max III boasted a larger and more exposed Air unit than ever before, so it became the centre of attention amongst the runner community.

For its 30th anniversary, Beaverton’s finest has decided to present all avid fans and collectors with the release of yet another retro version of the Air Max 90. Still impossible to ignore, this release will be as hyped as you expect it to be.

Get yours on November 28th.
