Return of the NIKE AIR MAX 1 ’86 OG “BIG BUBBLE” & Maxxed Out

Nike Air Max Day has arrived!

In keeping with the occasion, the new interpretation of the iconic silhouette from the house of Nike, the Air Max 1 ’86 OG “Big Bubble” is celebrated. The model was part of the original 1986 production before the classic Air Max 1’87 debuted, but the silhouette could not be released due to some weaknesses in the Air Pad.

The special feature of the “Big Bubble” is in the Air-sole. Unlike today’s Air Max 1s models, this is the forerunner. This one was equipped with an Air-Sole with a visually enlarged Air Pad. With the release of the Air Max 1 in 1987, Nike revolutionized the running shoe market at the time and caused quite a stir. The Air Pads were replaced there with smaller ones because there were concerns about the durability and resistance of the sole.

These concerns have now been broken and refined with the new edition of the OG model “Big Bubble”. The colors and design reference the forerunner and evoke a nostalgic feeling.

The “University Red” look that adorns the swooshes, eyelets, mudguards, and Nike branding on the tongue and heels is striking. In terms of color, the quarter panels are a light grey, as well as the midsole a classic white. The upper is made of classic leather material and is enhanced by the mesh toe box. This sneaker convinces not only with its design and technology but also with its comfort.

The model will be released via Raffle on March 26 at 9 am!

MAXXED OUT

Under the motto “Maxxed Out”, we are hosting and celebrating Air Max Day on March 26 in Cologne. The event is inspired by the rebellious idea of bottling air and then showing off that wild ingenuity.

We’re tapping into the core of Air Max’s DNA. Maxxed Out stands for embracing the unknown, putting everything on the line, iterating, and continuing past our fear until we reach our maximum potential.

Since no one embodies this better, we present MCR-T – @kolegajj from Berlin, whose sound is an example of trusting in one’s vision. Other music artists will also fill the Bollwerk with their music. The event will be accompanied by a vernissage of artists who express themselves through progressive approaches and use modern technologies such as AI and Web 3.0. Fearlessly self-promoting, raw, and authentic.

Join us on Sunday at Bollwerk Cologne to the beats of MCR-T (@kolegajj), Bedschun (@bedschun), Vivid (@vivid.1000), Hülle (@huelle.1000) & Kling (@kling.1000) of 1000Grooves (@1000grooves).
